I agree with your overall point. But the greeks didn't separate the "speaking for the gods" from "the future" in oracles. A minor point, to be sure.

That's not to say that a prophecy cannot foretell an event, if God should so wish. But when I look at the words of a man who claims to be a prophet, I'm going to look for what God wants me to know, not merely a prediction of the future.
Now talk your way out of "seer".

Just curious.

You talk your way out of "asshat," and I'll talk my way out of "seer."

Does this not pass for a prophecy?

Prophecy from October 2001 GC

"We have seen only the foreshadowing of the mighty force for good that this Church will become. And yet I marvel at what has been accomplished."

"Cannot honestly be applied"? How do you suppose you are going to go about proving THAT one?

No dipshit, I was talking about the prophet; in reference to your tired and lazy use of the "blind faith" argument. The prophet gets revelations and puts those revelations into action via specific teachings and programs and we can see the fruits thereof and we can also ponder and pray about the merits thereof; none of which constitutes "blind faith".

Therefore, blind faith doesn't enter into the equation, except for sour old wankers like yourself that tries to somehow cling to the notion that they have a firm testimony of the gospel while time and time again have NOTHING positive to say about the church, its leaders or its members. If you'd stop pinching off the bitter fruit coming out of your ass, maybe we'd actually believe you believed for a change.

OK, let's hear you reconcile all your back-patting about your manifold good works at church with the endless spiteful and disdainful comments you make about the church and its leaders on this and other sites.

It goes beyond simple criticisms of the church; the way you state your criticisms shows a deeper problem than mere differences of opinion.
