The problem I have with the semantic debate involves terminology. For a person to be speaking or discussing "knowledge" in the vernacular one is usually referring to empirical observation. Unless one is claiming a personal visitation by Deity himself, I don't find it reasonable in our language to claim knowledge without making a linguistic distinction. But if tooblue is comfortable with his convictions, then he need not protest too much.

Maybe it's just my desensitization from growing up in the anti-Mormon south, but I've never felt that annoyed by SU. He's an apostate and we know what to expect from apostates. Big deal.
I get far more annoyed with people who profess our faith, and then attempt to undermine it from within.

Person A says he knows God exists. Person B responds that that Person A doesn't know God exists. Person A is required to remain silent at this point.

When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith. |

Expressing differing viewpoints and experiences is not undermining. In fact, it's actually quite uplifting.

Person B is asking Person A use the same language as in Person B's language and in the language of common usage, Person A's declaration does not fit the definitional confines of the common language.

suit yourself. But taking on Seattle and possibly nonseq on this one seems roughly akin to battling bitter, belligerent windmills.
