BYU is on an island.

There will be no need to include BYU in the BCS.

If Missouri leaves the Big XII, the conference's top choices to replace them are, in order:
(1) West Virginia
(2) BYU
(3) Louisville
(4) Cincinnati

Quote:
If Missouri leaves, Castiglione said the Big 12 has a "Plan A" and "Plan 1-A" but did not discuss specific teams outside of BYU. He also said he was hopeful Missouri would remain in the Big 12.
...
Louisville is a close third behind West Virginia and BYU with Cincinnati the fourth choice, according to the source.

WVa is the odds on favorite to replace Mizzou, and if the Big XII moves to twelve, it will likely be Louisville and Cincy. BYU is geographically isolated and has enough strings for the Big XII to look elsewhere. Moreover, the Big XII might wish to pick BYU up any time but these other schools might not be available.

Well well well. For several months now, SDSU has been aggressively campaigning to the Big XII behind the scenes, and apparently has been taking BYU to the verbal woodshed in the process.

...Now an e-mail from Aug. 31 has surfaced from SDSU Associate Athletic Director Jenny Bramer to Big 12 member Oklahoma. In it, she writes to Oklahoma Athletic Director Joe Castiglione:

"Is there anything that Jim or I can be doing to share the message about all San Diego State's advantages? Or for that matter sharing all the disadvantages of being in the conference with BYU!"...
