No thanks.

That plan sounds vaguely familiar......and surely I will do it...that one soul shall not be lost....
No you don't lose the option of choosing for yourself. You CHOSE to raise your hand and sustain church leaders, and then you proceed to CHOOSE whether or not your sustaining vote is going to have an bearing on your actions. I can't for the life of me see how your options have been taken away.

You don't have the option of picking and choosing after that.
I was actually just quoting you verbatim.

I think part of your challenge on these boards is that you sometimes speak inartfully....typing one thing, yet meaning another. This would explain why you sometimes post things and then later regret posting them...you realize that they were either totally misconstrued or you didnt say exactly what you meant to say.

In the example above, you are completely contradicting yourself, likely unintendedly.

Is this really something that needs to be explained to you? Perhaps I erroneously assumed that you could understand the difference in context of those two statements, and that's apparently just not the case.

to agency. They believe their options have been taken away because they are 'victims' and want to B&M about the Church. Oh and they know better than the 'old white guys' (as DDD so aptly called them). I think I'll let the old white guys in the white building downtown know that if they need some advice, to look up DDD, SU and others.

I don't believe in selectively sustaining church leadership. If that's the way it works, why even bother sustaining them at all? What would be the point? I never raised my hand to sustain them with the idea that I was only going to support church leadership when I feel like it, or only so long as they do things my way.

Everybody screws up, but you should at least do your best to minimize the screw ups, and I'm doing my best.
Wow. Just wow.

99%? Are you saying that this site has sufficient magical powers to suck in a goodly number of people who happen to be in the 1%?

She may....at least on this issue.

However, ask an unmarried YSA in his or her 30s about the Church's views on heterosexual marriage, timing of marriage, delaying marriage, etc.....and I doubt they would be so firm in their belief that we should do exactly as our Church leaders say. All of sudden, there are reasons and rationalizations for not obeying the plain, literal counsel we have received on that topic.
