Gore did win the popular vote. But someone who thinks the Bush era has been worse than Carter, and who can 7 years later still say with a straight face that Bush "stole" the election, doesn't exist in political reality.

It depends heavily on what you mean by "best."
LBJ was instrumental with civil rights reform, medicare, aid to education, etc. The problem is his foreign policy was awful. Nixon was great with foreign policy, but his domestic policy was awful. Clinton was excellent all around, but couldn't keep his fly up. JFK was inspirational, but also largley responsible for Vietnam. Reagan took the national debt from under $1 trillion to over $5 trillion in just 8 years, but was really popular. Carter was just bad. Bush I wasn't good either, but far better than his son. |

I think you were trying to be eloquent with this.
Nice. What does it mean?

Who's been the worst public speaking president?
Is it GWB in a landslide? I can only remember back to Reagan. I would guess a big portion of W's poor approval rating can be blamed on his horid public speaking skills.

If you are going to be the leader of the free world and stuff, you might want to be able to speak smartly and stuff, you know? intelligence is a cool character trait in a commander-in-chief. I am just an ideaologist, though....we all know that those kinds of people dont really exist in real life...or in political reality.

What planet were you on during the Billary years? For starters, there was all the pardons the pardons given at the 11th hour of their term. That was an outrage if you look at the details of who was pardoned, and the money that exchanged hands over it.
