Did I say anything about uniforms?

If you attend the Varsity training, they will tell you that uniforms are optional. As are any kind of badges, award system. It is actually a well-designed and simple program. That why I say that my proposed system is "based" on the Varsity program. I am not advocating the use of the official BSA Varsity program.

It's frustrating to try and do scouts where the patrol method can't even be implemented, because there aren't sufficient numbers.

Stake Sunday School Presidency. Is there a more useless waste of 4 good people in each Stake in the church?

Most wards usually call a slacker to be the Sunday School Pres because they know that the SSP can't do too much damage and it really doesn't matter if they're functional or not. The Stake doesn't do that though. The Stake cherry picks the best people out of the wards to serve in a completely useless calling. The Stake Sunday School could charter and run the Stake-level scout troop instead of just being a waste of Melchizedek Priesthood flesh.

How many wards have a fully-functioning scout committee? Very few.

And why waste all of that time and human resources on paperwork and awards that the kids (and parents) don't care about? And why assume all units are going to be interested in or enthused about pre-defined BSA activities?

It's also a mistake to think that scouts don't benefit from the non-LDS infrastructure and leadership.

All the merit badge counselors. The camporees. The scout camp leaders and activities.

Damn, I left off "Tex."

Next time I'll spray "Hates Cyclists" instead.
