I have no idea how you could find fault with that position.
That is the problem. You can find no fault with that position. Therefor there is no definitive answer to the question.

One man's common sense and spiritual guidance can be in direct opposite to anothers. Must we accept a man's answer if only he says, "I recieved spiritual guidance to do so." I think you do have to accept it as long as what he recieves relates only to him.

Therefor, the SP's response was helpful for him. Whether it was good for the church or people in his Stake is just supposition.

Yes, it appears Tal lied. Yes, it appears Paul Dunn lied. Painting with such a broad brush is silly and lazy and unbecoming. Shame on you Tex.

I'd venture to say that the percentage of lying done by apostates in the name of destroying faith is somewhere near the rate of lying done by seminary teachers in the name of building faith. Can't you just call it even and walk away?

Major difference. Seminary teachers and Paul Dunn type lies bring about good. Apostate lies bring about bad.

Only if he had claimed they actually happened. Which he didn't.

Adam's "lie radar" seems a little too finely honed sometimes, so I was just curious to see how far he was willing to go.

Tal's sister was a missionary in my mission. Kind of a hottie, as I recall. To a bunch of girl-starved hormonal nineteen year olds anyway.

LOL, now that is a much better defense than the "his lies did much good". Basically supports my contention also, some religious people think it is OK to lie as long as it is done in the service of the Lord.

It wasn't a "defense", it was a half-hearted attempt to see what kind of crazy response Adam could come up with.
