Perhaps you missed the entire part of my post where I indicated Bush should push strongly on those issues right now, or where I noted that the global media presence will shine a huge spotlight on the private actions of athletes, protesters, Chinese citizens, etc. that will be broadcast throughout the world and highlighted to an extent never before seen in the US.

If you can't say anything about human rights WHILE YOU ARE IN CHINA, then you shouldn't go.

Care to compare the media attention devoted to the different events?

They aren't trying to hurt the jogger. They are trying to get the torch and humiliate China. And it is working. If your family had been utterly destroyed by the Chinese and your relatively insignificant self had one opportunity to make the world notice, I wonder if you would think differently.
