Are you that naive, or just pretending? How do you know that's what she "meant.?" I am going by what she actually SAID. And if you don't think there really are people in the church that really do think "mothers who know" will have all their sons dressed and groomed like that, you are mistaken.

There are people in the Church who think a lot of things that I ignore.

But I think this comment illustrates what BYU71 was saying above. How much of this is coming from a paranoia that someone's going to point the finger at them?

Wait...GC talks are just general messages, that we can disregard if we feel like it doesn't apply? According to my EQ lesson couple weeks ago. It was said there that GC talks are SCRIPTURE!
And like scripture, we need to consider their application to our life prayerfully. If it doesn't apply, dismiss it.

Or are you still planning on stoning your child when he argues with you?

That about covers it, yes.

He already escalated it with his remarks about taking Beck's talk as a commandment. That's just moronic. That's not even the issue.
And yes, I believe one must be blind in order to not see the linkage of her white shirt and tie, and missionary haircut comment, to mothers who know.

Is paranoia an unfounded fear. I thought that is what it is. I hate to quibble, but the fear isn't unfounded. I think the I am better than you are or you aren't better than I am contention that goes on is quite real.

I think some of that can be the reason some new Bishops go in thinking the ward is wonderful and their stewardship will be a piece of cake and come out a battlescarred trooper.

Sis. Beck is a stupid bitch. I meant that to be taken with love. If you are offended it is your fault.
