Not that I want to hand Barbara the noose, but Rocky may be onto something here.

It isn't the policies that matter. The issues are dead in this election. There is nothing you or I can do to change this fact.

Obama will become the next president. The American dream will win.
One day America dreamed that a Georgia peanut farmer could be President. 4 years later it was over.

As YO pointed out, these things don't come out in the primaries because Dems find little fault with them. They become very flammable in a GE.

McCain is already going after Obama for his hesitancy on keeping to his public funds pledge. Obama is like a blank canvas.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

I'm a partisan, a liar, and a dodger, eh?

One gets the feeling that you actually prefer name-calling to a reasonable discussion.

Where is my friend Adam and what have you done with him? Is he on meth right now, or did somebody slip ludes into his keyboard?

Have you read about his Illinois voting record? There is some bad stuff dude.

I, for one, hope that Barbara, YOhio, and others are right that the Obama train is a steam-powered engine with light-weight water. But I fear that America (well, Democrat America) is enjoying its flirtation with secular messianism.

Adam and Cali Coug's cultish demi-god worship of the man is disturbing, and they aren't alone.

I agree with him. Huckabee occasionally made references to this notion that God had ordained him to be president and turn this country around. Obama is increasingly sounding rather Huckabee-like in expressing this idea that it is his destiny to come and redirect (save?) the nation, only he expresses in less religious terms.

Obviously, the messianic criticism is a bit of a stretch, but it seems increasingly less-so as time goes by.
