Movie that best beat your expectations
In other words, you were expecting to see an average movie, and were blown away.
The one that comes to mind for me is The Matrix. |

O Brother Where Art Thou.
I can't even remember who or what got me to watch it, but the first time I saw it I thought it was only OK. Then I watched it again and really liked it. Then, when I saw it the third time I fell in love with it. I love the dialogue and cinematography in that movie. |

Probably Brokeback Mountain. After all the uproar, it wasn't what I expected.

Road to Perdition.
Office Space. I remember thinking, how funny can a movie about cubicle life really be? Family Man. The Pianist--thought it was just another overhyped Oscar-winning film, but loved it.

The granddaddy of them all, "the Big LEbowski" I did not hear anything about it, and then I saw it. Wow.
