Big mistake. I hope Astana gets shut out of the TdF again. That would be hilarious.

Contador is the best cyclist in the world. And he's essentially being asked to not go for the win, because Lance is here now.

It's hard to come up with an equivalent sort of thing. It's sort of like Michael Jordan coming back and playing for the Lakers, and now Kobe only gets 10 min a game. I think Kobe would have the right to be uspet.

He's currently the best cyclist in the world and I don't blame him for being upset.

I most likely just don't understand how cycling works, but if he's the best, what difference will it make to him if Lance is on the team? Is he going to be asked to not try and win? If that's the case, I can see why he's be upset. Otherwise, he's just coming off as whiny.

Contador would be asked to not try and win, and rather, use his energy to help Lance win.

That's exactly what will happen. He'll be asked to work for Lance. If Lance wasn't performing like the Lance of old then I'm sure Contador would be given the green light eventually but he feels, and rightly so in my opinion, that he should be the go to guy from the beginning.
