Considering his performance in this time trail, his ride in the first TT and his performance in the Alps with his constant attacking, should Schumacher have been a real threat for the overall classification?

I'm not nearly as nuanced as all of you regarding cycling and the intricacies of the tour, so excuse my ignorange. He had the legs in the Alps to constantly attack and coupled with his time trailing ability I assumed he should have finished higher than 25.

I think the answer is "we will find out next year."

Personally I don't think he can climb with the big boys.

He looked really good earkly ina couple of mountain stages and then cracked. I think he might be able to follow INdurain's approach, which was to hang tough in the mountains nad demolish evreyone else in the ITT. He ahs potential but I think he is already 27 or 28, so his time is now.
