I think Contador is lying. I think he is likely ot be pissed. This kid won the tour, won the giro and is well positioned to podium or win the vuelta this year. ANd some old fart strolls back into training camp and he is supposed to slide down the bench and let him have the throne? Doubtful.

Your arguments sounds plausible, but in defense of the possibility he's not just putting a good face on it, suppose the guy really was your idol to some extent, and a friend, and you appreciated the opportunity to go head to head with your idol legend. Some competitors like that.

Maybe. I just think that most of the guys that are that good are also selfish and in fact must be selfish to be that good.

It is a narcissistic sport. So my counter-argument wasn't a strong disagreement.

But maybe he believes Lance will become the second Levi so that they could have all three on podium. Wouldn't that be cool?

The Tour hates Lance and Astana enough, that should they pair, it would not surprise me to see if they are excluded.

That's why Lance can't join a team unless he is sure they will have a tour invite.

Prudhomme said today that Lance would be welcome as lkong as he and his team followed all doping protocols. He did not mention Astana directyl, however, and there remains the chance that he still holds them in a special category.

One of the articles I read today says Lance is thinking about running for Governor of Texas in 2014.

Kay Bailey Hutchison will be running for the 2010 job, and will probably win it.
