Default How likely are you to get divorced?

Statistics can tell you.

7% risk in the next 5 years. We got married young (21) so that probably counted against us.

5%.

I don't understand the gender question. Don't men and women have about the same chance of divorcing?

Somewhat answering my own question, I plugged in the data for my wife, and she is at 10%. So she has twice the chance of getting divorced as I do.

Apparently men and women remarry at different rates.

I think the program is flawed. It doesn't an an input entry for me to tell it whether I am a horrible person or not. I would think that the percentage would thereby be dramatically altered.

There is no entry for things such as:

1. "Do you like to tell it like it is?"
2. "Do you like to get plasterered in Ramada Inn bars on business trips?"
3. "Have you been divorced twice or more already?"
4. "Were you young and stupid when you decided to get married?"
5. "Are you old and stupid?"
6. "Is your spouse likely to wake up and realize what an idiot you are?"

Me, too. I bet we had all the same answers.

7% here too, I was married fairly young at 23 too.

I noticed an article on the bottom of the results page that caught my eye. Two First Borns? Bad Match (since Mike and I are both firstborns)

Quote:
This has been studied very well from a psychological stand point. The most successful marriages are those where the oldest sister of brothers marries the youngest brother of sisters.”

“Think about it. The older sister of brothers all her life has been taking care of little boys growing up. The youngest brother of sisters all his life he has been taken care of by older sisters. It’s a natural fit. And there is a direct positive correlation between their place in their birth families and the stability of their marriage.”
Really? The best match for me is a baby of the family that I have to spoil and take care of?
