Tandems are required to start at the front, presumably because they are faster and get in the way. But I'm thinking of starting later, simply for the pleasure of passing people.

While it might be fun to be stoker, mess around, whistle at the hot chicks, take pictures and the like, I'm betting I'll be telling my dad "shift higher" about 100 times, so maybe it's better he be the stoker.

So we are borrowing my dad's friend's tandem. If we wreck it, I guess we buy it.
