Justice Souter is retiring.
Likely won't make much of a difference for the Court. I am going to take the early guess of Elena Kagan.

Yet another reminder of the wonderful judgment of the Bushes.
I still hope Souter's home is bulldozed with eminent domain. |

I had recently read speculation on a legal blog that he'd be the next to go--apparently he didn't hire clerks for the next term. Somehow, the news came more quickly than I was expecting.
I am sure this pick will be interesting. I look forward to it, although I can't even hazard a guess. |

It's 99% certain a woman will be selected. A pro-abortion liberal woman. NARAL has already issued a press release.

Since we are now in this wonderful world of brave change, and we have the smartest president, perhaps ever, editor of Harvard Law, why not have Obama nominate himself to the Supreme Court?

How about his wife: a woman, a minority, a lawyer, and a fashionista with $500 sneakers. (Lord knows that bench could use a little fashion!)

Let's have one guy be the president, who gets to control all the banks, the military, the economy, the money supply, the auto companies, his wife on the Supreme Court, let's give him a rubber-stamp majority in congress and call it a day.

I'm not so sure I agree on the percentage. There will be many weighing in and applying pressure. Many competing interests to balance. |

I need a larger eyeroll than an emoticon can provide. Be patient, my friend.
