I wonder if his transferring has more to do with the fact that Bronco/Hill refused to play him and how much it has to do with his academic issues and just the general BYU/Provo culture.

Per Kelly Poppinga:

"G Pittman has the potential to be the best cornerback to ever play for BYU, and I seriously mean that, this kid is going to be unbelievable."

In terms of how big of a loss, he hasnt played in 2 years due to injuries and academics so it more hurts depth than anything else.

Huge loss for the Y. IMO the best pure corner on the team. He was hurt during fall camp which prevented him from winning the job. This is a very big loss.

Jonathan Pittman caught the 4th and 13 against Utah in 2000 on the game-winning drive that sent LaVell off into the sunset a winner.

Jonathan Pittman was the last one I can remember. He's the one that was on the receiving end of the back to back Doman long passes in LaVell's final game.

He was also famous for delivering err...off the field.
