You are exaggerating the costs. RCRA has been around since 1976. And the US economy has chugged along just fine. China and India are currently copying US environmental legislation for application in their own countries. China has recognized that cleaning up their horrendously bad water supply is essential for them to truly become a modern economy.

why are there hedge funds? To avoid paying taxes. If the rich controlled the govt, I would guess it would be a lot easier and cheaper to just eliminate the cap gains tax.
so smart people figure out ways. there will be more laws/taxes. and the cycle will continue.

The Lord is progressive in his tithing system, but according to conservatives, progressive taxation is evil. It should not be a flat tax. It should be a "flat amount".

Europe does a much better job of getting people to pay what they're required to.

I put myself in the upper middle class, for your frame of reference.
Why do they call it the "working class". the middle, upper middle, well off and rich all work too.

When I used to work 60-80 hours a week that working class bull crap with all their paid holidays and vacations or welfare checks really pissed me off.

Now if it is short for "working the system class" they I guess it fits.

Surely you jest or you just don't know what a hedge fund is.
