Yeah, that might work. Hated the book, hated the movie, but I bet it would not offend anyone.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching movies, but you don't interact much sitting in front of the TV. Games like pictionary, taboo, cranium, etc. require more interaction. It can be fun to see their personalities come out. And like a movie night, a game night requires little preparation.

Your best bet is one of the Disney/Pixar movies.

That or Where the Red Fern Grows.

game nite with activities like "do you love your neighbor" are just fine once a year in the winter months.
Other game nite type activites for our wards included scavenger hunts, redneck olympics, blacklight voleyball, broom ball, etc.
the key is not to do them all the time

The idea of playing games with these kids makes my brain hurt. Many of their intellectual capacities don't go far beyond "hungry hippos".
Hey now, Hungry Hippos is an awesome game.

As for movies, you should get out the old Tom Trails film strips. Sheer genius.

We recently did a "Rock Band Challenge" night and had the best turnout we have had in years. Almost all of our inactives showed up. We had pool and ping pong games going at the same time. And lots of socializing.
