Manny or no Manny, anyone who has written off the Red Sox has not been paying attention. It'll be interesting to see how the Rays respond to this collapse.

During the 7th inning, the TBS announcers said that Vegas just opened the Rays as favorites in the World Series.

Yeah, the Sox are strong, and young. I think the Rays sort of chalked this one up as a loss ahead of time, though. That's why they didn't go with their best pitcher as the starter. He pitches much better at home, and they knew that if things went bad and their relievers had to enter early, they would have extra rest before the series resumed in Tampa. The fact that they went up 7-0 was remarkable and unexpected, even for the Rays, I think. The fact that the Sox then won 8-7 was even more amazing.

Great game. Too bad the BYU game couldn't have gone similarly.
