Looks like Matt Holiday is headed to the A's. This is an incredible move. Holiday is one of my favorite players. He is one of the best players in the game.

I'm wondering how they're getting him, because they haven't opened up any names other than P Greg Smith so I thought Billy would have to shell out for Holliday.

Rumors are that it is Carlos Gonzalez, Greg Smith, and Huston Street. I am happy with the trade if that is the deal, but it does seem like a lot for a one year rental. If the deal involves Murton or Brett Anderson, I am going to be upset.

Also, Hot Lunch the A's are one of the teams pursuing Furcal.

Billy Beane is a great GM. I'm a little confused by this deal at this point. He is a one year rental because I don't think that they can re-sign a Boras client.

I will be honest.... If the Dodgers don't resign Furcal I will cry. Furcal is a stud. Great shortstop and a great lead-off man. I think the Dodgers are going to make a strong push to sign him again from everything that I have read. He is one of the guys that Torre loves.

I thought you said the Manny deal was dead in L.A.? Sounds like he may not be getting the years he wants but the Dodgers are offering top dollar for his services the next couple of years.

how can the manny deal be dead? there are only a few teams willing to pay manny the money he wants. or maybe I am overlooking about 20-25 teams willing to give manny $25M per for 5 years? I am sure they are lining up at that price.

nonsense. look at everyone's payroll.

there are only a few teams that can afford Manny. one one of them, the red sox, have already stated that they are not going after him.

Manny will not get a 5 year deal from anyone. Not at that price at his age. My guess is 3-4 years, most likely 3.
