I think it is a good a place as any to mark the end of my youthful baseball fandom.

I was a big fan when I was young. But then life stepped in, and it wasn't a priority.

Tip o' the hat to Mr. Maddux as he rides into mortality's sunset.

Didn't he come from Nevada? I thought he did. Yes, his style is gone from professional sports. The death of quiet professionalism is signaled by his retirement.

Yes, he's from Vegas. Valley High.

He was the best pitcher I've seen. His control is unmatched.

Baseball is worse without him.
