Help me out here, CG folks
The wife and I are contemplating the unthinkable: buying a game system for the kids. Anyone have a strong opinion on the big three systems?
XBox 360 PlayStation III Nintendo Wii Thanks in advance.

I have already pre-ordered my PSIII, i sold my moded X-box, and my PS2 (the only way the wife would let me get the PSIII) and i have it on order. It blows the 360 away. Blu-ray DVDs are the wave of the future, plus if you like sports games whatsoever Playstation is always better for those.

Sorry, I just can't hear/see Nintendo Wii without also seeing an accompanying image in my mind of a frozen Cartman.

Don't do it. If you don't then your kids could turn out like me... On second thought, go with the best.

I'm sure you could find an Intellivision game system on Ebay. Nothing will ever top that thing, especially for sports games.

Why don't you buy the kids a chess board?

Funny.
This is kind of a tough call for us. Son #2 is 17. He's a great kid. Doing well in school (including AP Calc). But in his circle of friends, everyone but him and one other boy is dabbling into drugs, sex, etc. So far, he seems to be holding out fine, even acting as a strong influence to the others. And fortunately, our home seems to be most popular hangout (computers, pool table, ping pong, home theater, lots of food, etc.). We like that since we can keep tabs on what they are doing. This would be one more reason to stay here on weekends and evenings. I suppose we would just need to lock up the controllers until HW is done.
