I told my Bishop and my HT (who is the ward coordinator) that I am not participating.

In hindsight, it would have been more in the spirit of things to simply say, "I'm OUT."

No. You need to incite a shouting match with your bishop right there in the middle of SC. I think that's what ER means.

Yup.

Seriously, that's as much or more than I would probably would've done. I just think that there are too many people (including myself) who just sort of crouch down and let the mullahs go wild.

It is just a hard call to make in light of the authority over membership status and callings that mullah's in leadership position's have and exercise - sometimes with recklessness. I just don't want to likewise be reckless but rather reasoned.

Hey, you were being sarcastic there, weren't you? I'm on to you.

No problem.

Thanks for teaching me correct principles and then letting me govern myself.

'old white guys' said was ordained of God? Or that they inadvertantly left out that gay marriage is ordained of God as well. I can respect that.

Abstain from personal attacks, if you can, and address my questions.
I don't know anyone that can say for sure whether God approves of gay marriage or not. I am not aware of a single GA that says God has come down from on high and told them one way or the other. Negatively impacting millions of lives based on a warm feeling or because gay sex makes you sick doesn't seem right. The thought of fat ugly people having sex makes me sick and I wouldn't dream of telling them they can't marry. The idea that gay marriage cheapens hetero marriage is moronic. Almost as moronic as people who argue that if gay people are allowed to marry, we will have to let them marry animals too.
