Here is a question for religious people on the right... how do you square up the two ideas that we are simultaneously heading into the 'last days,' when prophets have foretold the near-political ruin of the U.S. government, complete with endless wars and rumors of wars and secret combinations, with the fact that conservative politicians have taken power, and will probable hold onto the majority for a long time to come?
I think the key word is "politicians" Conservative or not they are all corrupt. What little faith I had in our government has been removed by Bush. I'm still think he was the better of the two running, but that doesn't say much. It was basically a choice between a monkey and a villain.

Are you assuming that the Republicans will still control the White House after the '08 elections?

I don't think conservative politicians will hold power after the next round of elections, frankly. They will almost certainly regain control of at least one house of Congress, and unless they can't find somebody inspiring to put in the white house, they should take the Presidency as well.

At any rate, the thing people object the most to regarding the way "conservatives" have been governing is the un-conservative manner in which they do so. Legislation from the bench, growth of government power, etc.-- these are not conservative methods of politics.
