Default So long Denny Hastert

When you have to issue a statement saying you have no "recollection" of a conversation about Foley, yet at the same time say that the republican who says he told you had no apparent motive to lie, you know you are in deep doo-doo.

That Hastert has called for a Justice Dept. probe of his actions does not point to his lack of culpability. He did it to head off an independent investigation.

We know of the Fall of Rome.

I'm afraid that some day the book will be written "The Fall of America."

This will get much worse for Republicans before it gets better. Surely somebody knew about the emails. You can't tell me that in a body as secure as the US Congress, something like this would go unnoticed. Bad timing for them. Word on the street has it that more congressmen are about to get sucked into the Duke Cunningham investigation as well.

Here's my question: What kind of idiot writes stuff like that in an e-mail? Talk about sign your own death warrant. The stupidity of the whole affair is quite stunning.

This is despicable by Hastert and ANY Republican if they knew about Foley's behavior and let it pass and anyone who just turned and coughed their head the other way on this deserves severe punishment.

you are one of more reasonable conservatives on the other board

this issue ought to be about protecting 16 year old kids not justifying it because of what Clinton or Kennedy did or overanalyzing the media and acting like a political victim

i'm glad there are conservatives like yourself along with outlets like the Wash Times that get it

if anyone from either party covered up or stalled the investigation they need to be done with elected office
