Default I think I just found the best internet radio site ever.

www.pandora.com

Some of you may have run across the Music Genome Project in past years - well, they've taken what they've learned and created an internet radio site.

When you first get to the site, it asks you for an artist or song on which to base your custom radio channel. It then plays the song or a representative song from the artist followed by songs that they have determined are similar. You can modify it by saying that you like a particular song or don't like it, and supposedly, it creates a channel that exposes you to songs and artists that it thinks you'll like, but which you may never have heard of.

I only discovered it today, but so far, it's fantastic! Already I've discovered new bands whose CD's I plan on buying.

I too have been using pandora for a little while now. Fun stuff, especially the ability to rate the songs they pick and have your playlist adjusted every time you do.

Enjoy it now, because it's going to get big, and big means LOTS more ads to support the costs.

Very cool technology though, and great idea.

That is cool. I'm sure I'll make many more stops by there. Another VERY cool one, mainly geared at those who actually listen to music on their computer, is www.lastfm.com

When you go there you sign up (free) and download a program that imbeds itself in either Media Player or Itunes or whatever you use and begins to track everyting you play. Based on that (and it takes a while for it to have enough data to do this) it pairs you with "neighbours" who have smilar tastes to yours. You can then click on their profile and see in real time what sorts of things they have been listening to.

I have discovered a TON of good music this way that I have never heard before.
