Default California is deserving what it gets

Yeah you all have the good weather, the nice surf, the beautiful people.

I love it when God knocks you down a notch for all your sins and abominations.

How you like it now??

So what's Texas's excuse? With all those tornadoes, torrential rains, tropical storms and hurricanes and so forth?

I say it's because of illegal immigration and gun ownership.

Yeah, sometimes funny just isn't funny. I have done that myself. Cracked a joke I didn't think about and got the blank or disgusted stares.

Southern Cal has it good. Every once in a while they get knocked down, just to level things out with the rest of us.

I was in Houston and in the middle of the night woke up to see water lapping my doorstep. Push my motorcycle through waist deep water.

I've been in hurricanes. I've huddled in the bathtub waiting out a tornado. I have gripped the sides of a doorjam during a 8.2 earthquake.

Paradise won, paradise lost.

A woman in my office a few doors down is on the phone with someone in CA. She just asked them how come they can't just use a giant pipe to suck water out of the ocean and put the fires out.

She was serious.

sounds good to me. it would be a huge public works project (assuming that lack of access to water is a problem in fighting the fires).

However I would worry about ecological damage related to putting all that salt on the land. So I woudln't support it for that reason, come to think of it.

Fires are nature's way of renewing.

Then someone would sue the government for polluting the environment with untreated, filthy seawater and killing off the endangered apricot monkeys.
