Hopes and Fears was a good album.

Afterwards, not as much.

keane should never cover The Cult.

That is AWFUL! Brother Wolf and Sister Moon would not be pleased.

Ok, I take back my criticism of Keane.

I never knew that the leader singer of the Cult thought that dressing like a pirate would be the best image for this song.

When the original group disgraces a song, it's ok for other bands to do the same.

Under the Iron Sea was good. Are you one of those people who hates anything a band puts out after they've blown up?

not really.

radiohead is one of my all-time fave and my little brother-in-law who goes to Lone Peak likes them.

I still love The Shins. IPU and I talk about The Smiths. REM is coming to the Hollywood Bowl at the end of May (with MGMT and Modest Mouse). So no, that is not the case.

I just dont think Iron Sea was as good as Hopes and Fears. And the few songs they have leaked from their 3rd disc have not been overwhelmingly great. This version of She Sells Sanctuary being a good example.

Your point is valid to the extent that bands blow up and then start losing their way to remain commercially viable. If a band starts to suck, it almost always coincides with "blowing up," which results in appearences on MTV and other heinous misbehavior. Gotta sell those records, after all....

My thoughts on The Cult:

Dreamtime was very good.
Love was fantastic.
Electric was very good.

Everything else was a disappointment, though Fire Woman from Sonic Temple is a good song.
