That was a fortunate performance by Van Noy and an otherwise lamentable performance by the offense. Glad the offense didn't need its full allotment of practices.

BYU wasted its best defense on a pathetic offense. What might have been is truly the life of a BYU fan.

"It's 3 a.m. in the morning. Do you know if your offensive coordinator has been fired yet?"

Best offensive player we have. Good news if true.

We need an Oline.

Hill, Hoff and Williams show some potential. We need to use the tight ends too.

The first 3 quarters were almost hypnotic in their mediocrity. The announcers spent the whole time talking about how physical the SDSU offense and largely how inept(correctly, imo) the BYU offense was. Then the 4th quarter started and Van Noy & the BYU defense went nuts. I don't remember BYU ever being that dominant defensively in a bowl game, though I may be missing a game somewhere. Stopping a team is one thing but your defense scoring 12 4th qrtr points is another.

One more thing: the unsung hero in this whole thing is Riley Stephenson and the punt coverage team. In a low scoring game, they repeatedly set the table in the second half for Van Noy's heroics. Stephenson may have NFL-esque control if not distance.

You'll pardon me if I celebrate a BYU bowl win for a day or two. I was there when a bowl win was a rare thing.

I really enjoyed the 4th quarter. As much as I think Bronco is an idiotic head coach, I think he's a genius DC.
