Maybe Mindful can chime in on this.

This cracked me up for some reason.

I read about the story on fox news early in the evening (at my time) and it did have a much fair photo related to the story .But your source if not biased.... says : its not a good idea to make a contest out of iranian foods.
Rather endeavoring to devour it at once, it is being made.(did any one say i am bragging about my country again ??)

Here are some photos for the story

Goulash is a stew ..but it is (was?) a 1500 meter long Ostrich sandwich. Mind the difference?
What has made the sandwich distinguishable as Guinness's requirement was ,using a good amount of (2.2 Ibs) of Saffron and Cumin as iconic iranian's food items.

Here is a video of the event on the BBC

Will there be mass public beatings of those who ate the sandwich before it was finished?

You guessed it right.

A severe Stomachache it must be.After having had to welcome to enormous uninvited bites which they just swallowed.
What punishment better than the natural punishment?!

What the hell? That's not one big sandwich, that's multiple regular sandwiches placed end on end.
