BYU-Utah
this game should be hotly contested, and neither team is special.
If it were based upon consistency, not upon intangibles, I'd say BYU is slightly better, but in those recent games where the teams were equal or BYU may have been slightly better, Utah has won. Only in games where BYU appeared markedly superior, did BYU eek out a victory. So I would expect a Utah victory, but would not be surprised if the odds help out Bronco for once. But then again the odds have not helped BYU win a Tourney game in basketball, so who knows.

You would think that BYU with a senior QB all-time leader in wins and the all-time best rusher in its history, with a somewhat competent, but for BYU's standards, not-terrible defense....would be favored against a rebuilding Utah with a true fresh QB.
1. Utah probaby has better line play. 2. Utah is always better in the athletic skill positions (WR, Secondary). 3. Utah has better coaches. 4. Utah wants to win more than BYU wants to win. 5. Utah has a long history of winning bowl games, and other big games (BYU does nto). This is why I am not optimistic. Not that I really care anyway. |

I would agree with all five points. Yet this Ute team is not that great and if mistakes are made, BYU might overcome the Ute advantages. Now watch me eat my words and the Utes annihilate the Cougs like Florida State did.
