Trump leans pretty socialist himself. He wants universal healthcare also and has said that many times. He's not a detail person, so who knows what this means for sure, but we do know he will at best not touch social security or other entitlements. The other question we should think about is if on top of economic socialism are we also headed toward a fascistic surveillance police state as well. In the UK a new domestic spying law just went into effect that gives local police the right to check in real time what any person is looking at on the internet with no judicial oversight. This is the kind of thing Soviet bloc countries only wished they could have done back in the day and now it's happening in a supposedly free country. Heaven help us if someone like Rudy Giuliani gets the homeland security director job. Undoubtedly he'd think something like this would be great for America.

Bill Clinton had enough credibility to ask Republicans to gut their tax cut blow job for the rich because he also rejected liberal pleas for more infrastructure spending. Now Trump wants to give the rich the same blow job while increasing infrastructure spending.

I am worried about the socialist tendencies of Trump. He really has no ideological foundation and was for most of his life a liberal Democrat.

I'm with BlueK. Some of us need to be about the business of preserving our civil liberties.

The saddest thing for me to read in that article is where it said the Brits can no longer look to to US as a moderating influence on something like this. That really sucks.
