Going on monthly campouts
Since I have been scoutmaster, I only missed one campout due to other obligations. And it turned out that they canceled that campout becuase of an ice storm.
Yet, it seems most of the other adult leaders can't make it when asked to go. It's hard for me to believe that I am the person with the most flexible schedule. I will file this under "they will miss me when I'm gone." |

First, I'm assistant scoutmaster and I will admit I don't sacrifice much to make it to monthly campouts. I think it's ridiculous to have to go on so many campouts. I just don't see the purpose. Especially during the fall, I'd rather go hunting with my dad and brother and I work late on Friday nights. Second, the fact that you do those campouts is VERY admirable and they will most certainly miss you when you're gone. |

Good for you, Mike. I am sure the boys enjoy it. And while they will forget 99% of the lessons in church, they will always remember the leader who seemed to care about them.
