I think your church was encouraging members to go home and watch LeBron James on TV.

This is misguided because the Cavs don't play on Halloween this year.

That's odd. Usually it's just, "no SCARY costumes allowed." Smurfs are okay.

We have an evangelical family in our neighborhood that hands out religiosu tracts instead of candy. You can guess how well this goes over with the kids. It has a couple of results. First, EVRYBODY thinks they are weird (even weirder than the dentist that gives out toohbrushes and floss- -whatever). Second, all the local kids avoid their house (which may be what they were after). I suggest you not take your witnessing that far. Third, the neighborhood is littered with their tracts for the next few days becaseu while kids will keep a toothbrush in their bag, they are usually so ticked by a religious tract that the toss it at the bottom of the driveway.

yeah, there are tons of families here that do that. Lately they've switched to "God Loves Me" pencils and WWJD bracelets to cut down on the litter.

Me, I'm handing out Obama stickers.

I'm with the Baptists on this one. I find it creepy that churches are having parties where vampires, werewolves, grotesque and gory monsters, etc. are encouraged and celebrated. I have no problem if an individual wants to let their kids do Halloween (I let my kids do it) but I just think it's bizarre when a Christian church sponsors a Halloween party.

There's one church that only lets you dress up as Bible characters.

The Mormons let you dress up as whatever you want with two exceptions:

1. No masks
2. No cross dressing.

When I saw the title of this thread, I had an immediate flashback to Halloween 1998, which I had the fortune (I'll let you judge whether good or bad) to spend Halloweed in San Francisco on a business trip.

Just what that city needs is an excuse for people to dress in "costume" and go to work, etc.

You've never seen so many drag queens in office building elevators, etc.

Oh, that's nothing. You should try volunteering on a psych ward on Halloween. While they're showing scary Halloween movies.

Somebody in administration has a twisted sense of humor.
