Tough Year to be a coach in MWC
Today CSU canned Layer, Wyoming fired McClain, on top of Giacoletti and McKay.
I think Layer and McKay were long overdue. They had not done anything discernible to help their programs and McKay continued the downward arc of New Mexico from the Fraschilla era. I am not sure that Wyoming did the right thing with McClain. The Pokes ought to have given him another year especially with two of the best guards in the conference back next year. Maybe Roger Reid should have waited to see if he would have been in the running for these jobs. |

As some have mentioned already, how much better does Wyoming think they can get in coaching?
I think Mclain for all is antics and annoyances was a perfect coach for that program. He recruited fairly well there and had a program that would be solid every few years. Plus, if they keep playing Air Force in the conference tourney, that's one lock win every year.
