Did you miss the last drive. We play that way the entire game.

I sort of agree. However, the standard for BCS admittance is not top 10. Look at the Big East and ACC champs. BYU isn't a top 10 team but that does not mean they are not just as worthy of a BCS bid as a big east or ACC champ assuming BYU wins out of course.

Actually, if there's ever a defense of the bend but don't break philosophy, it's Utah's performance last night. Outgained by 150 yds but stopped them from scoring.

Boise st. has to lose
Ball St. has to lose.

If they win out they will be top 12 in the bcs.

Ok let's say the potato zoobies win out. they get the auto qualifier. BYU however will be in the top 14 and eligible for at large It would go like this:

bama v PSU NC

North Caro v WVA Orange

Oklahoma boise st Fiesta

USC v Texas Rose

This leaves FLA in Sugar versus At large. the big 12 and SEC teams can't send another team (already have 2) and that Leaves only Ohio St needing to Lose (so they arent in the top 14) and byu, ball st or Utah for that matter would be the only eligible teams.
Don't patronize them. They won't like you for it.

You succinctly summed up why the BCS is bad for college football.

The conference champions from the ACC and Big East get an auto bid no matter how bad their teams are. It's time for a playoff.

I don't think Ball State has to lose. BSU must lose, and then BYU controls its own fate.

But yet you liked the Orange Bowl, etc. pre-BCS when those conferences had auto bids and MWC was constantly shut out.

Yes I did. I liked it because it didn't matter in which bowl a team played. All teams still had the same chance at being named national champion.

Didn't BYU wrap up the title before New Year's Day in the Holiday Bowl?

Then Flystripper did not succintly summarize why BCS is bad for college football, in your mind.

Because what he succintly summarized was why BOWLS are bad for college football and have been for decades--and you don't agree with that.
