We took the triple out for about 20 miles today. It was wild. Almost everyone looks, and the poeple that aren't looking are usually trying really hard not to look. It is hilarious. You know how when you ride and some red neck pick-up comes up and some redneck punk rolls down the window and you just KNOW you're going to get spat at or hollered at or have something thrown at you? Well this happens today, and I'm cringing becasue my wife doesn't deal with this sort of thing well and my 8 year old hasn't expereinced it yet. So the pick-up slows down ahead of us, the window comes down, and some long-haired semi-toothless only-occassionally-sober 20 something year old redneck sticks his head OUT the window (and I am expecting the worse) and says:

"Cool Bike! You guys must be having a blast"

Seriously. That is almost verbatim. The triple is a true smile machine. It's like everyone thinks the circus has come to town, and you're in the center ring.

As to the bike, it is a very strange ride and actually taxes my upper body more than any bike I have ever ridden. But it is great to ahve my youngest son with us and we never have to slow down or worry about where he is, and he loves it, as he goes much faster than he would otherwise. Very fun family entertainemnt.

Creekster, you should have told me you were coming to Redding for a ride this weekend. You've just described half of the population of our fine county here. In fact, that may have been the mayor of the town that you saw.
