participated in stake conference with 70 plus....
stakes this weekend via satellite.....
interesting indeed. burton, christopherson and elder packer were the speakers. attended a fireside later sunday night with president monson which was quite entertaining as well... it seems marriage is again becoming a hot issue. packer talked about it, burton talked about it, and monson as well talked about it. looks like i need to get on my horse, get married and start having babies. monson made some jokes about a couple who struggled with inappropriate relations before their marriage which was actually quite nice. |

I think we were one of the early test sites for the satellite stake conferences about a year ago and it was definitely interesting. There was a slight trip up in the scheduling, but we went fairly smoothly. On the other hand, I think the stake on the other isde of town or somewhere else nearby couldn't get it to work at all, so they had a makeshift conference that went short. Ours was 30-40 minutes of locals and then the other 1.5 hours of the 2 GA and wives.
The funniest part, though, was that they really wanted to localize it so they through in "Oregon stakes" A LOT. "We know that there in <pause as if filling in Mad Libs> Oregon...." It almost seemed like a dub in. |

that's funny stuff parrothead. Reminds me of my first concert. It was Night Ranger in 1986. In the middle of the concert they yell out "we've been all over this world and seen just about everything there is to see" (Cheering and lighters going up) "But we've just never seen women as beautiful as we've seen here in Medford, Oregon" (louder cheering and more lighters).
