im trying to figure out why this is an embrassment.....

now the catholic priest comment was over the line, but i fail to realize why a couple of guys saying a few swear words at a football game brings embarassment to the university. im assuming its because as members we are held to a higher standard than people not of the faith.

this is what im not getting though....we give brown gets a pass on the other site because dudes mom posts, isnt a member and 'we' dont want to offend her for fear she wont investigate the church. people get upset and throw tantrums in front of large groups of people because they think the word 'bastard' will offend non-members and give a bad impression of the church. which begs the question to me, why are we so sensitive when it comes to things like this yet real things that would cause people concern like polygamy, blacks and the priesthood, etc, we, as a whole, are inept at giving explanation for these actions of our church.

its like we apologize profusely for a dude saying a swear word or off colored comment at a football game, yet we dont understand why people fall away for finding out joseph practiced polyandry....

we are emotionally/mentally whacked.
