It says that Hadley has been asked to play this fall instead of going on a mission, and he has agreed.

This is great news, that certainly casts doubt on Mendenhall's mullah-like aura (according to some).
Nothing wrong with asking, IMO.

Spaz regarding the official word on Hooks, trust me it will come out soon enough the tendon was ruptured and they were trying to decide whether he have surgery last night or this morning. The prognosis is 6-8 months.

I'm largely joking here. But I think it is true that any delay in prior mission plans makes it less likely for a kid to go on a mission.

Makes sense to me. Still, I don't have any problems with Bronco asking the question. It's not like he's threatening to not hold scholarships if they decide to do the Lord's work instead of sticking around.

Besides, I think in general a player who leaves in the winter (Jan/Feb) will be better off afterwards than those who leave in the summer. Had I played D1 football, I might have put the mission off until after my Sophomore year...

I believe you. I'll still wait for official word before I am 100% convinced, but based on the fact that he was carted off the field like he was, I have little doubt you're absolutely correct.

And, I highly doubt he'll be ready to go in games in 6 months - which makes it likely that he'll be out the entire season.

according to this, it is 6 months minimum.

There's no way he would come back.

Injuries suck.

I wish the kid a full and speedy recovery.

He won't be available for the season. Even if Hooks does the best of the prognosis at 6 months being the earliest...it'll be the middle of the season. They're going to apply for a medical redshirt.

And they'll probably get it as well since Hooks never served a mission.
