I think I'll go ahead and disagree with you and state that God is the only one who can really judge someone.

Absolutely, completely, totally wrong and this perfectly illustrates my point. The consequence of adultery is excommunication? Really? I think it goes far deeper than that.

Even you, whose opinions I generally respect as well thought-out (even if I don't agree with all of them), are getting this wrong as a result of our institutional demand for temporal "justice". Imagine what your average teenager is doing with this idea.
