Yeah, that will be great fun.
BYU used to be Hawaii. BYU isn't Hawaii. I'd rather get to the BCS and then prove that we belong with the big boys, than have an early-season schedule that increases the chance of a loss while the team's trying to gel.

BYU's been 11-2 the last 2 years, with wins over Arizona, UCLA and Oregon. If undefeated next year, it will be with wins over Washington and what could be an improved UCLA team.

That does not equal Hawaii. Everyone knew Hawaii had no business being in a BCS bowl last year.

Socal imo this year was an aberration, we almost made the BCS because nobody could stay in that 2 spot. Can you show me in years past where a 2 loss MWC, WAC, Conference USA or any other non-BCS team had a shot at getting in to a game? How about a 1 loss team?

We have to go undefeated to get in to a game, however even if we go undefeated with a horrible schedule we still might not get in.

Just to be clear, I don't think our schedule next year is horrible. AS a matter of fact if our away schedule was home, I would be a happy camper. Scheduling only one BCS team in 2012 concerns me. I don't know if we have a conscience shift in scheduling philosophy or an abberation.

Yeah, I remember that. Bizarre. And that pansy AFA QB kept whining to the refs begging for the call. I think that is when I started disliking AFA.

Darned if we do, darned if we don't.
I'd be willing to bet that they're conference mates by 2012.

His point is the point I've been trying to make to you for quite some time:

There is no way in hell that the BCS will ever allow a non-BCS team play for their fake championship. Never. It won't happen.

A non-BCS team could schedule USC, Texas, Ohio State and Boston College - all on the road - win them all and then blow out everyone in their conference to finish undefeated and the people who make the decisions in the BCS will ignore it and invite it's chosen top 2 BCS teams.

It's not that hard to understand.

LOL. If that was his point, then it was a strange time to make that point. I was just talking about why there are many reasons to play a tough SOS.

You're completely wrong, but I'm not making that point right now. Nor do I care to keep making it. You disagree, that's fine. You were probably an earth is flat guy 500 years ago.

And you would be the guy who thinks aliens are going to meet you in a wheat field somewhere in Kansas so you've packed all your belongings and are sitting and waiting, wondering if you should change from your Captain Kirk shirt to your Han Solo shirt.

You my friend, are the one who is wrong. The sad thing is that you don't even understand how wrong you are because you actually believe that the BCS cares about finding a true champion rather than hording as much money as possible.

The 2008 schedule is comparable to, or better than

1979
1980
1981
1983
1984
1996

Northern Iowa is a nightmare game in that they could pull an App State on us. If we win, nobody care.

Again, if we lose, then we're not as good as we believe any way.
