I agree with a lot of what they say but its not as simple as that article makes it seem.
This claim especially is just downright wrong:

"Health care is increasingly high-tech and complex, but so are many other products and services that Americans purchase everyday without specialized expertise. A consumer does not need to know how an internal combustion engine works in order to buy a reliable car, or how silicon chips are manufactured before he selects a computer. When consumers have good information about product prices, quality and safety, they naturally gravitate toward the goods and services that offer the highest value for the lowest price."

The problem is that tbere is a large balance of information that Medical Professionals know that the laymen simply does not. A better analogy would be if you only had one car and could never buy another one and you went to the mechanic to fix something. Wouldn't you be at his mercy to fix your car? You could always go somewhere else but the the lack of informatiion still follows your. Also, what if the price you paid varied dramatically from one mechanic to another? What if mechanics didnt post their prices and then made deals with tons of other people to pay for the same items with a myriad of different price ranges? You would have a pretty messed up system.

Personally, I think the goverment has ruined the financing of health care. With certificate of need laws, medicare and medicaid the goverment influence has absolutely screwed up system.
