What are some good ideas for a farewell talk?
Some of these kids go up there and talk about some deep subject for about thirty minutes and try to show how ready they are to go. I'm telling my son that nobody is coming to be preached at and just to make it simple, tell some of the things that have prepared him to go on a mission (tie it in with the theme the bishopric gives him) and then go down the list and thank those who have helped him get to this point. What are some examples of good talks you've heard from outgoing missionaries.

I don't mean this facetiously. Keep it Christ-oriented, testimony-centered.
My personal opinion.

Thanks for that and I think you are right. I'm not being facetious when I say that would be different from 99% of the sacrament meeting talks.
