That is probably a lot easier to explain. Both have legit arguments as to which team should be ranked higher.

Does your formula not take into account head to head match ups?

It obviously does not take in to account wins and losses, head to head matchups, or common sense.

For these questions
1. Why would computer models have certain team higher than another.
2. Why would my model vary from the computer average for these teams.

Here's the computer average.

http://www.masseyratings.com/cf/compare.htm

So my model is in line with the average on both these comparisons.

on Texas/TT:
1. Rankings are a composite of every game. Texas' wins are much more impressive than TT's. The head to head game was close and on TT's field. Texas' overall resume is slightly better.
2. Look at this like a presidential poll. Texas is 1 and TT is #6 with an accuracy of +-10 spots. The pollsters would call it a dead heat.

on Boise St/Utah
--both have crappy schedules with slight edge to Utah. Boise's better in MOV which bumps them up

LOL, you rate the top 50 teams and I'll pick apart your list.
