I doubt that SLC could support another major franchise. Everybody points to the Jazz as a major franchise that not only survived but thrived in a small market but the fact of the matter is that there is only so much money to go around. Places like LA, Miami, Dallas, who have large population bases and significant luxury spending are able to support multiple major franchises. The Salt Lake area could not. And it could potentialy hurt the Jazz.

Its doubtful that there would be good enough attendance for a mlb team there to survive - especialy with all of the day games that would have to be played by the team.

There is zero chance that Utah will ever get a MLB team. The problem is the altitude. Denver has been terrible for MLB, because of the altitude. MLB at altitude simply does not work. It taxes pitching staffs way too much, after a road trip to CO you spend a couple days recovering your having to use your bullpen more.

Anyway Portland and Vegas are way ahead of SLC in getting a baseball team.

I've got nothing against soccer or soccer fans, I don't even mind playing it some myself. I find it horribly boring to watch though. I even went to a Real game, and while better than the TV experience, it just didn't do much for me.
