Vakalahi....
is from my hometown, sort of. Don't know anything about him. I wonder if he is the son of the academics advisor for athletes at A&M, who is poly.
I hope he represents Texas polys better than Ofa!!! |

He signed with BYU. I was referring to another poly from the Dallas area who ended up being a bust and flake, and transferred out from BYU, despite being one of the highest-rated blue-chippers that BYU ever signed.

It may be his brother. Moses Vakalahi signed with TAMU back in the 90's was hurt and went on a mission. Didn't see the field. Still lives there with his wife and kids.

Per this Scout article his dad is Moses and is the Academic Advisor at Texas A&M. He said that tamu didnt recruit him very hard that they just assumed he was in the bag, then when he committed to BYU they started coming after him hard.

Not every Bryan-College Station kid wants to stay in BCS, that is for sure.*
I've interacted with the dad just a few times over the years, mainly playing flag football during Thanksgiving. I'm faster than him. * BCS = Bryan-College Station Last edited by MikeWaters; 02-24-2009 at 03:24 PM. |
