It's not that I'm not honestly open to be convinced it's because I innately disagree with him about almost everything he politically stands for.

Most underrated and misunderstood story of the night: a black man getting a plurality of votes in a dominantly white state.

Watch all the liberal talking heads saying, "Gee! We're shocked there's no evidence of racism!"

Welcome to the 21st century, liberals.

How deluded would you have to be to try to turn this situation around and make it into an attack on liberals?

Liberals are primarily those who are surprised that their 1955 view of American racism doesn't hold.

Looks like conservative commentator Paul Mirengoff feels the same way.

To the extent that a skewed caucus process in one state can produce a loser, last night that loser was mainstream conservatism. That's because the only two major Republican candidates who take mainstream conservative positions across-the-board both fell short of expectations.
Meaning Romney and Thompson. I find that I'm really missing guys like George Allen and Rick Santorum this morning. Perhaps the real story of 2006 is not the retake of the House and Senate by the Dems, but the taking out at the knees several strong conservative Presidential candidates.

??? There isn't exactly a history of liberals in primaries being racist. In general, those issues arise in the general election among conservatives.

What you mean is, "in general, those issues are brought up by liberals and the media in the general election about conservatives."

Look at all the surprise on your side over Obama and Iowa. "Wow, they voted for a black guy! Can you believe it?? It's historic!" If I'm surprised at all that Obama won, it's certainly not because he's black. Your response betrays your outmoded views on race in America.

It isn't that I can't believe they voted for a black man in Iowa. I can believe it. And that is why it is historic. The climate has changed, and Obama is evidence of it.

... and what I've been telling you is (3rd time), it changed long before now.

For liberals, agreed. The jury is still out with conservative elements.
